Parish life
Early Beginnings (1911–1948)
The foundation of our parish community
The first Mass was celebrated in 1911 for a small community of 8–10 families. Father Joseph Van Gastel, a Belgian missionary, guided the first non-resident pastors and oversaw the construction of the original church, which was later destroyed by fire.
Continued Development
(1990s–2010s)
Adapting to a growing parish
Major renovations, fundraising campaigns, and new buildings helped the parish keep pace with its growing population. Religious education programs began in 2006, and the parish mortgage was satisfied in 2013.
Growth and Expansion
(1950s–1980s)
Expanding to serve more families
Under successive pastors, the parish grew and built new facilities, including the church dedicated in 1973 at Dorothy and Falletti. Programs like Meals-on-Wheels and expanded religious education strengthened the community.
Recent Improvements
(2015–Present)
Modernizing and thriving
New properties were purchased for parish expansion, roof replacements and parking renovations were completed, and modern lighting and sound systems were installed. The church continues to thrive as a vibrant community of nearly 450 families.
