SACRAMENTAL LIFE

A Family-Centered Journey of Faith

Family Faith Formation is a diocesan program led by Bishop David Konderla as part of the Restored Order of the Sacraments of Initiation.

This approach places the sacraments in a renewed order:
Baptism → Confirmation → Holy Eucharist, strengthening the spiritual life of children from an early age while involving the entire family in their formation journey.

This change allows children to receive the grace of the sacraments earlier, while parents actively participate in their faith formation.

Faith Formation for the Whole Family

Each monthly gathering is designed to include:

  • Family faith sessions
  • Catechetical formation for children
  • Community dinner
  • Time for prayer and reflection

Families are not only welcome—they are warmly expected and encouraged to participate together.

Adoration

What is Adoration?

Eucharistic Adoration is a time of prayer and silence before Jesus Christ, truly present in the Blessed Sacrament.

It is an opportunity to step away from the distractions of daily life and spend time with the Lord in quiet reflection, prayer, and thanksgiving.

Sacrament

Anointing of the Sick

Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament of faith: the faith of the Church which looks back to the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus and forward to the future reign of God which is promised through all of the sacraments. (Catholicism, Richard P. McBrien)

Anointing offers a renewed trust in the Holy Spirit and strength against anxiety and fear. At times, even physical health is restored. Through this sacrament, the Church recognizes her journey toward the reign of God in fostering the eschatological virtues of faith and hope. It is the journeying community who is saved in our “human wholeness, body as well as soul by our Lord Jesus Christ, (who) shared in our human nature to heal the sick and save all humankind.”

If you would like to arrange an appointment to receive the sacrament of Anointing of the Sick for yourself or for a loved one, please contact the parish office at 918-341-2343.

Who can receive the sacrament of the anointing of the sick?

Any member of the faithful can receive this sacrament as soon as he or she begins to be in danger of death because of sickness or old age. The faithful who receive this sacrament can receive it several times if their illness becomes worse or another serious sickness afflicts them. The celebration of this sacrament should, if possible, be preceded by individual confession on the part of the sick person.

Who administers the sacrament?

This sacrament can be administered only by priests (bishops or presbyters).

Marriage Preparation

The Church, in her pastoral concern for persons preparing for marriage, wishes to emphasize the sacred and serious nature of the marriage covenant. As love joins man and woman, so they are bound more closely to God. Couples considering marriage should contact their Pastor well in advance of the wedding date (6 months). Couples meet with Father on two ocassions and then begin marriage preparation which takes six months. The preparation process is a beautiful journey that includes meetings with a mentor couple from the parish. All weddings will be reserved for active parishioners.

Civil Marriages Seeking Convalidation

Convalidation is a beautiful opportunity to validate your existing civil marriage and transform it into a sacramental marriage within the Catholic faith. For more details, please reach out to Father to learn more and begin the process.

Irregular Marriages and Declaration of Nullity

Please reach out to Father to begin the process if you are in an irregular marriage. Please do not schedule a wedding until the declaration of nullity process has been completed.
