Baptism
Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water and in the word. How to get baptized
STEP 1: Call the parish office at 918-341-2343 to begin the process. This can be done prior to baby arriving or shortly after.
STEP 2: Have Godparents* complete the required affidavit. Godparents must be practicing Catholics who are at least 16 years of age and must have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation. If married, the godparent must be married in the Catholic Church. The Godparents must:
- Complete the Certificate of Eligibility for Catholic Godparents. This is available from the front office.
- Complete the Godparent Registration Form.

Additional Information
Baptisms are usually held in the Christ the King Chapel, which can accomadate approximately 40 people. For more attendees, the main sanctuary can be utilized. Times for Baptisms depend upon the availability of the chapel and the schedule of the officiating priest or deacon.
A Baptism candle and white Baptismal garment will be supplied by parish of St. Cecilia. If your child will be wearing a traditional white christening gown, the garment may simply be placed over the gown.
